Just back from the week-long whisky trip to America, taking in New York, Dallas, Chicago and Miami and it was a good – if heavy (carrying a kilt and lots of whisky) trip, but the one thing that amazes me about the US is the contradictions all the time. It’s a great land of opportunity and sense of “go for it” but at times it’s a bloody pain as well. For example, was there anywhere on the trip you could kick back and enjoy a cigar at the same time as enjoying a quality dram? Not a chance.
But that shouldn’t be allowed to overshadow what was a memorable week – and the first week I held tweet-ups in a few places, which went down well – but next time more of you come out to play!

I’m going to back in the US in November with trips planned for San Francisco, Los Angeles and Ft.Lauderdale, so if you’re an online whisky-loving type from any of those areas, stay tuned for more details.
