Richard Paterson

s1I’m at Whisky Live in Glasgow at the Thistle Hotel today and it should be good fun. Looking forward to meeting some old faces – and new ones – and being asked a million times “so how much water and ice can I put in my whisky?

Anyway, here’s my movements during the day:

  • 12:45pm – Blending competition on the main stage
  • 2.30pm – A mini whisky masterclass with a little drink you may have heard me speak of – Jura Prophecy. This will be one of its first public outings in Glasgow
  • 3.30pm – Another mini whisky masterclass but this time with one of the Dalmores – and perhaps a few surprises
  • 5.45pm – Blending competition on the main stage
  • 7.30pm – Mini-whisky masterclass with Glayva
  • 8.15pm – Last of the masterclasses with Whyte & Mackay 19 year old

There’s also going to be some cocktail making with the Dalmore 12 and Whyte and Mackay 13 year old with LA Bartenders on the main stage.

And lastly, there will be a raffle at our stand – number 23 – and someone will have the chance to walk away with a bottle of Dalmore King Alexander III, which in the words of John Hansell: “Master Blender Richard Paterson’s excellent adventure. This whisky consists of Dalmore aged in a wide variety of casks… This diversity shows in this whisky’s complexity and unique flavor profile. There’s a lot going on in here. Very rich, but balanced… A very busy whisky.”

It should be a fun day – especially if the weather stays as good as it has been the last few days (do you think I brought the sunshine back with me from Jura?).

Full details are over at the site, including entry costs and conditions. If you see me, tell me what you think of the blog!
