I’m seeing stuff on the internet that apparently whisky gives you a worse hangover than vodka because of congeners. Bollocks. Drink too much of anything and you will get a hangover. Drink too much beer, drink too much wine, drink too much vodka and yes, drink to much whisky and you’ll feel rotten the next day. You don’t need science to tell you that!
You shouldn’t be over-indulging in the first place and if you do, a few extra whiskies versus a few extra vodkas will make no difference at all. It also depends on what you’ve eaten, your individual metabolism and a host of other factors – you and you alone will know what your tolerance levels are.
For what it’s worth, I never get a hangover from whisky – and that included my father and Grandfather who were Whisky Blenders too – like me they loved this noble spirit but we always drank it in moderation! Good Whisky is not for slugging back! Its not science, it’s a fact! We have being enjoying whisky since the first written reference of 1494!
So what I’m saying is, enjoy your whisky (and other drinks) at Christmas, but enjoy responsibly. SLAINTE!

Spot on!
My New Year’s Resolution tip: Don’t give up drinking, give up hangovers!
Heh, just make sure Jonas doesn’t overindulge in that Xmas gift you’re sending him! Meant to say, thanks for the mention – and good to see you’re a fan of the BrewDog lads too. Our web lads speak highly of them and I’ve tried their whisky beers this year as well.
(and if you do go off on another trip, let me know.)
I have also read this press release. If you read it a bit more carefully, it reads bourbon and not whisky. Question: what is the age of the whisky?. In addition, they did felt worse but did not perform worse. Let’s wait until the article is published..
