During lunch with Catherine Stanton Schiff and others yesterday, Catherine sneaked out a few pictures that she put online. Now as you would expect, I look fantastic, but for a bit of fun – and two prizes (though at this point I have no idea what they will be. Whisky will figure in though) – let’s have a caption competition:
Let’s keep entries open until midnight UK time on Thursday. All you have to do is put your two caption ideas in the comments section. The two that are decided to be the funniest or most unusual are the winners. Please note, in the interests of fairness, we won’t pick the same winner for the two captions – whisky is for sharing after all.
Good luck everyone.

My two captions for the competition:
1) Please show me the way to Dalmore distillery?
2) Which one is the real Scottish art?
grts, Peter
1) Say “Hello!” to all the whisky in Scotland!
2) The Benjamin West painting “Alexander III of Scotland rescued from the Fury of a Stag” memorializes the history behind the MacKenzie armorial bearings showing a stag bleeding from the forehead. If you put ice in this whisky, you’ll be bleeding from the forhead!
Picture one: “So you see, this is my ‘conquest of Scotland’ cunning plan…”
Picture two: “These are the guys who refused a bottle of this. Can you find them and…?”
Picture one: “On this map, we have marked precisely where the magic happens.”
Picture two: “This, in my right hand, is art. But this, in my left hand, this is HIGH art.”
“So in tribute to my father, Lech Walesa, I have been shipping whisky to these dissidents, in the hopes that Scotchidarnosc might be further strengthened.”
“In conclusion, Caravaggio was the first master blender at Dalmore. Evidence of his genius persists to this day. Questions?”

Anybody got any idea how and when the winner is announced?
Aficionado, indeed the winner has been picked! I’ve actually picked a few. The winners should expect an email shortly.
Thanks everyone for the entries – they made me laugh. Let’s do something similar soon.
